Maria Ochoa,

Maria recieved her B.A. degree in English from Mount St. Mary's College. She minored in Business Managment because she found it too dry to swallow all in one go. Her father blames this unfortunate choice on Charlotte Bronte and Sandra Cisneros. True, but alas her mentor, Marcos Villatoro, Edgar Allan Poe, and Rumi were in on it also. She is Of Mexican American Heritage, and a proud member of Alumna of Latinas Unidas. Currently, Ochoa works with special needs children and adults. Maria mailed herself to Italy last year, but it inevitably returned her. She misses the Gelatto al Mezza Notte on the Loggia steps especially Amannati's Neptune; although half of Florence has been trying to give it away for centuries. When she grows up she wants to be as succesful as JK Rowling and as lyrical as Eliot, while being as Riveraesque (Rubens eat your heart out) as possible. She loves learning about global cultures because although some of us are apples, and some of us are oranges, we're all still fruit.
