Happy International Women's Day
Dear Friends,
In the course of history, International Women’s Day has taken many forms. At its infancy, in the early years of the twentieth century, it was recognized by working women who sparked off a labor revolution.
Later it became a day for demonstrations at media doorsteps and government institutions. It has also been a day to shelter battered women, and to usher in legislation reform. At various times it has become fashionable, attracting society women, women celebrities, and rubbing shoulders with the elite.
Whether marked by demonstrations or celebrated at luncheons and concert halls, it always remained focused on the advancement of women and the stamping out of the last vestige of female dehumanization.
