Erada: Officials from the Department of Women’s Affairs in Khost province, speaking at a meeting of the local people, called on them to allow women to register for the elections. The Director of Women’s Affairs in Khost, Sayera Sharif, has said that women in the province cannot take part in the registrations without men’s permission. A number of people at the meeting said that if the registrations were to be held under Islamic conditions, people would not present women from taking part in registrations for the forthcoming elections. 
