Stop Beating the War Drum BY admin For quite sometime, many of the Los Angeles based Iranian Radio and TV programs have caused grave concerns among large numbers of Iranians both inside and outside Iran. It is very disturbing that under the banner of support for democracy, many of the LA based Persian broadcasting stations are increasingly campaigning for a devastating US military attack on Iran.
In a TV station that has recently joined the warmongering campaign; the weekly political analyst of the program has gone as far as blaming the Iraq war on Iran and repeatedly suggesting that the west should deal with Iran in an urgent and forceful manner.
The producers and managers of such stations obviously either do not recognize or do not care that the contents of their programs are quite offensive to the vast majority of their intended audience. Such programs do not in any way contribute to the promotion of democracy in Iran and are counterproductive. Support for democracy and human rights has nothing to do with instigation of a catastrophic war in Iran that will benefit no-one and will likely inflame the entire world.
The programs of many of these stations that are unfortunately broadcast to Iran falsely portray the Iranians abroad as some callous political idiots who have no concerns over mass destructions and immeasurable loss of lives. Any responsible media producer and manager should realize that democratization cannot be achieved by military force and the actions of those who run war-propaganda stations for the Iranian people are viewed with disgust by Iranians, Americans, and all those in the world who long for democracy and peace for all nations.
