On President Obama’s Speech at Cairo University BY admin Inextricably intoxicated by the oratory and perceived by some as rhetorical, nonetheless, inspirational speech of President Obama at Cairo University that has ushered in a new era in global diplomacy, and as a patriotic American of multi-ethnic Persian (Iranian) heritage and with inter-religious upbringing, I, like millions of other Americans have once again been reinvigorated with much exhilaration to remain proud of our nation and its pillars of safeguarding human dignity, humanity with humility, democracy and freedom, and partnership opportunities it offers.
His visionary blueprint for the U.S. global leadership, presented in Egypt especially to the Islamic world of nearly 1.5 billion followers is anchored on the commonality of humanity, and acceptance of, and adherence to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This fundamental shift in paradigm of the past eight years alone should once again revive the U.S. credibility, respect and the trust by others that we once took for granted. A new era of cooperation to move forward has indeed begun.
