Shirindokht Nourmanesh
A fiction writer, poet, and translator, Shirindokht Nourmanesh was born and raised in Tehran. She has published two compilations of short stories, Domal and Setarvan, both denied permission to publish in her homeland. Her translations, stories, and poetry have appeared in print and online, in Reed Literary Magazine, Persian Book Review, Other Voices International, Rozaneh Magazine, Simorgh and Khavaran Independent.
An active constituent of the Iranian American community, Shirindokht writes for examiner.com as the Bay Area Persian Community Examiner and shares her understanding of women in arts and literature on her blog:
