I love going to different shopping malls during the holiday season because of all the fun decorations. I love the way stores and boutiques display beautiful evening gowns, shoes, and bags on their display windows. I especially love shopping for perfumes and makeup because of all the fun packaging with beautiful vibrantly colored cases and boxes. Above all I love the makeup colors during this season they are festive and bold, because holidays are great to get out of the daily subtle makeup routines and go with an exotic look. Also there is no better time than now (before holidays) to go through your makeup and toss out anything that has been sitting there for more than 6 months. You can restock with new fun Items.
My two favorite looks for this holiday season is exotic makeup, and timeless glamorous makeup. The timeless glamorous look focuses on sensual eyes and dramatic classic red lips. To get this look start by creating the sensual eyes and apply a neutral shimmery eye shadow across your eyelid, then use a lengthening dark mascara on upper and lower lashes. Now you are ready to put your beautiful red lipstick on. Start by applying a red lip liner, then with a lip brush apply the lipstick and blend it in with the lip liner. I always prefer using a lip brush because it blends the lipstick with the lip liner and make the lipstick stay on longer.
The exotic makeup focuses on dramatic eyes, and soft, sensual lips. To get this look, start by applying eyeliner either liquid, or pencil. Start from inner corner of the eye to the outer edge and extend it a little upward. To soften up the eyeliner( if you have used a pencil), or to give your eyes a Smokey look, use a thin eyeliner brush, dab it in a dark eye shadow (black or brown) and apply it over the eyeliner to set the line. To complete this sexy eye makeup, apply a metallic bronze or copper eye shadow over the eyelid and a soft shimmery beige or white under the eyebrow. Don’t forget to use eye shadow primer or base before applying the makeup, this will help the eye shadow to stay all day or all night without creasing. The main key to create a Smokey eye is blending the eye shadows really well. To finish your exotic look you can apply a neutral lip liner and choose a subtle lip color, because you don’t want the eye and the lip make up to compete. Remember in this look the attention is more on the eyes.
Finally if you are looking for bargains this holiday season remember this poem
“The bargains I buy
May fit my purse,
They don’t fit me
And that’s their curse.”
